Enjoyed reading this post. I’ve done a fair bit of hiking in the area around Porto, but can’t recognise any of the names haha… Then again, memory like a goldfish and it’s been too many years. Will certainly bear this post in mind for the next visit. How crazy though that Peneda-Gerês is the country’s only national park… madness.

Ok now I know I need to plan plenty of time to do some hiking when I make it to Portugal! Each of these hikes sounds spectacular. I’d love to give Rota Vicentina a go even if it sounds challenging. I’d enjoy that it’s so scenic with coastal views and charming villages!

Now I regret not having done much hiking when I was in Portugal. The only hikes I did were tiny party of the Rota Vicentina and it was amazing!
