My favorite vampire movie was filmed on location there and it was actually the first American film to be shot in Romania. Super cool stuff!

Subspecies is the film, by the way. Silly b-rated horror, but absolutely delightful for all the location shots in Romania!

Will definitely visit next time around. The first and last time we were in Brasov we only did the usual suspects, Bran Castle and Peles Castle and missed out on this gem, but we’re planning on being back in 2022 for more castles and some nature and trekking.
